AI consultancy · Glasgow

AI consultancy for Glasgow businesses.

McMahon AI helps Glasgow businesses connect fragmented tools, centralise operational information and automate repetitive work. We build practical AI systems that reduce back-office workload and give decision-makers clearer visibility.

The problems we are usually asked about

Most conversations start with one of three things.

Repetitive admin

Details copied between emails, spreadsheets, job sheets and accounts software. The same information typed more than once, with mistakes to chase later.

Lost time
Fragmented information

What the customer wants is in an inbox; the job status is in someone’s head; the invoice is somewhere else. The next person has to reconstruct it.

Slow handovers
Slow enquiry handling

Enquiries arrive while the team is busy. By the time someone replies with the right questions, the customer has moved on.

Missed opportunities

How we choose the first AI project

Most Glasgow businesses we speak to have several ideas. We start with the one most likely to work, then build from there.

1 · FINDREPEATED WORK2 · CHECKSYSTEMS + INFO3 · PILOTTASK + REVIEW
1 · FINDREPEATED WORK2 · CHECKSYSTEMS + INFO3 · PILOTONE TASK, REVIEWED
  1. Find the repetitive work. We talk to the people doing it: what gets copied, chased or checked every day?
  2. Check the systems and information. Does what the task needs already exist somewhere reliable, and can your software be connected to?
  3. Build a focused pilot. One task, real examples, a person reviewing the output. Only when it is dependable do we connect the next step.

How we work with you

Consultancy first, then a focused build. You know what is being built, why, and who checks it.

01
DiscoveryWe look at how work actually moves through your business: where time goes, where information sits and where things wait. Discovery can be handled by video call, or through a site visit where seeing the process in person would make the project clearer.
02
ScopingWe agree one task with a clear trigger, the information it needs, the result, and the exceptions a person should handle.
03
ImplementationWe build around the software you already use, subject to the access and integration options it provides.
04
TestingOrdinary cases and awkward ones, with your team reviewing the output before anything runs unattended.
05
HandoverClear instructions, a named owner, and an agreed way to handle anything the system cannot complete.

Human review stays wherever a mistake would be costly or visible to customers: pricing, payments, customer messages and changes to records.

Built around the way your business already works

A focused automation can become part of a wider connected system: enquiries, customer updates and administrative workflows feeding a shared source of truth. Dashboards can then surface the operational KPIs your team needs to make informed decisions.

More about McMahon AI

Questions Glasgow businesses ask us

What does an AI consultant do?
An AI consultant reviews how work is done, identifies where AI or automation could help and defines a practical implementation plan. McMahon AI also builds and tests the agreed systems, connects them to existing tools where suitable access is available and hands them over to your team.
How much does AI consultancy cost?
The cost depends on the processes being assessed, the software involved and the complexity of implementation. Bespoke consultancy and systems are scoped and quoted before work begins. Our communication agents have separate setup and recurring prices shown on the AI Agents page.
Do we need to replace our current systems?
Usually, the first step is to assess the tools you already use. We connect or improve them where suitable access is available. If a limitation makes replacement worth considering, we explain the trade-off during scoping before you commit.
How is business data handled during a project?
Data access and handling requirements are reviewed during scoping. We agree what information a workflow needs, who can access it and which providers are involved. Retention, permissions and any required data-processing arrangements need to be agreed before deployment; GDPR responsibilities depend on the project and the roles of each party.
Do we need to be a large company to benefit?
No. Most of our work is with small and medium-sized businesses. The test is whether a task repeats often enough, and follows enough of a pattern, to be worth improving — not headcount.
Will you work with the software we already have?
That is the starting point. Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Xero, QuickBooks, job-management tools and CRMs usually provide enough access to build on. Where a system offers no suitable access, we say so during scoping rather than after.
Do you replace our team?
No. The systems we build prepare, organise and draft; people decide, approve and handle exceptions. The aim is to remove re-keying and chasing, not judgement.
What does a first project usually involve?
One repeated task with a clear beginning and end — for example, turning incoming enquiries into a structured brief the team checks. A small, measurable pilot comes before anything broader.
How do we know whether AI is right for our business?
Take the free AI readiness test. It uses your answers to suggest a starting point, a readiness score and what to prepare first. Or read where should your business start with AI?
Do you meet in person in Glasgow?
We are based in Glasgow and work with businesses locally and across Scotland. Discovery is usually done by video call with screen-sharing so we can see how your tools are used, or through a site visit where seeing the process in person would make the project clearer. We agree what suits your project when you request a call.
